Uranium Nation

Kazakhstan's Past and Future is intertwined with Uranium production. It is currently the number two uranium producer in the world, eager to become number one. But many citizens find it difficult to be eager for a substance that has caused horror and heartbreak in the country. Between 1949 and 1989 Kazakhstan suffered over 450 nuclear tests by the Soviets using Kazakh uranium. The Nuclear fallout is still felt today.
